Kesha Carter

Kesha Carter has 21 years of educational experience in St. John the Baptist Parish. Kesha is a lifelong native of Reserve, Louisiana. Kesha is a graduate of Delgado Community College, Southern University at New Orleans, and Southeastern Louisiana University. Kesha is a graduate of East St. John High School and a four-time “Teacher of the Year” recipient for St. John the Baptist Parish Schools. She loves to teach, sing, laugh, shop, and spend time with her family. She is very active in her community along with serving as a faithful member at the Greater New Plymouth Baptist Church in Reserve, Louisiana as a Minister and Director of Christian Education. Kesha is currently serving teachers and students as a Louisiana K-3 Literacy Instructional Coach. Kesha wholeheartedly believes in the power of love, knowledge, and unity.

Moreover, Kesha is a servant-leader who strives to empower others intellectually, spiritually, and emotionally. During the last twenty-one years of her educational career, Kesha has worked as a Career Teacher, Instructional Writing Coach, RTI Interventionist, Title 1 Master Teacher, Special Education Teacher, Restorative Circle Instructor, and Literacy Coach. Kesha is a Louisiana Level 3 certified teacher with a certification PreK-8th grade, K-12 Special Education, Louisiana Mentor Teacher, and the Science of Reading (Structured Literacy, Reading Proficiency, and Writing Proficiency). As a Literacy Coach, Kesha is a reflective, life- long learner who strives daily for excellence and carries an undeniable deep love for teaching others how to read and write.
